Nasty Streak

Chris Watt is the second best offensive guard in the country according Rivals.com and rated the 51st best high school senior in the country. When asked what set him apart, he mentioned to us recently his nasty streak on field. “I play with a nasty streak, no plays off, lead by example.” He explained.

Glenbard West Comes Up Short

Watt is hoping to finish his senior year with a state championship at Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. “The highlight is yet to come, hopefully a state championship, if not probably winning the conference for the first time since 1994.” His team went undefeated through its regular season and won three playoff games before falling to East St Louis Senior 20-27 on Friday night.

Pancakes are something that Watt excels at as he has dominated lesser talent on the high school level for a number of years. His stats for the year are impressive. “About 114 pancakes, not much defense, I go in on goal line, maybe 15 Tackles, 2 sacks.” He reported to us.

Notre Dame His Selection

Schools came after Watt from across the mid-West including Ohio State, Notre Dame, and almost all the Big Ten teams. “I made about 15 offers. Most of the teams in the Big Ten, Stanford, Virginia, and BC offered me.” Notre Dame offered him what he was looking for in a college. “I was looking for a great fit with the players as well as exceptional academics.” He told us. “I love the kids and coaching there, also the campus is great and it has a great tradition.”
