Matt James 2010 Offensive Lineman from St Xavier

Matt James 2010

Matt James 2010 Offensive Lineman from St Xavier

After attending the Bearcat's 2009 Spring Game recently, Matt James still is undecided about his college selection but has reduced his favorites to three schools, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. He is also still going to take a look at Boston College and Florida with his official visits. James' father was a player for Cincinnati and being close to home is attractive to the Ohio native.

Rivals 250

James is a member of the Rivals 250, the top 250 national recruits for the 2010 class. At 6'8" and 280 lbs, James is one of the best tackles in the country and was a standout on the line for St Xavier the past two years.

Ohio State Visit

James is currently recovering from a foot injury but the extra time off is allowing him to see his main college interests more closely. James made a trip to both Ohio State and Notre Dame prior to the Cincinnati Spring Game. At Ohio State he was interested in seeing the depth chart of the Buckeye's offensive line players. He also participated in a position meeting that he found quite interesting.

Notre Dame Spring Game

At Notre Dame, the Irish showed James a good time. He spent a decent amount of time with the Irish Offensive Line coach, Frank Verducci,  and found out that they rate their offensive lineman daily so they know were the stand on a consistent basis. While on campus he also got to watch their annual spring game, the Blue-and-Gold game.
