Nick O’Leary Improves Ranking

After a very good performance at the recent Friday Night Lights Drills, Nick O’Leary moved from the 36th best prospect nationally to the 26th. He also obtained the #1 ranking among tight ends. Fans were hoping the West Palm Beach Florida 2011 prospect would be given a 5 star ranking by Rivals.com. But giving 5 star rankings to tight ends is a rare occasion and O’Leary remains a 4 star prospect today.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's Doran Grant

After wading through nearly three dozen prospective schools - all vying for his gridiron talents - one of the most sought after high school football prospects, St. Vincent-St. Mary's Doran Grant, still has to chop a list that he has already narrow to just ten universities.  Over the next several weeks Grant expects to cut the list in half; a difficult decision, considering the schools in play - all major powerhouse football programs with a lot to offer any player.

Rated as the 23rd best running back in the country by Rivals.com, Allan Wasonga is taking his time with recruiting to allow a more diverse group of colleges to recruit him. He currently holds offers from MAC schools Bowling Green, Marshall, and Ohio and Big East programs Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and West Virginia.

Defensive End Aaron Lynch Selects Notre Dame

Defensive End Aaron Lynch from Cape Carol Florida selecting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for his college destination this past weekend on his second unofficial visit to South Bend. The Island Coast High School standout is considered the 6th best strong-side defensive end in the country by Rivals.com. He also had scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State and many others.

On October 6, 2012, The Hurricanes vs. Fighting Irish are scheduled to continue an age old game of rivalry with Miami. Miami has remained a rival for Notre Dame since the 1950's when Miami gained momentum.

Gerry Faust coached his  last game in 1985, which was an embarrassment to Notre Dame in a 58-7 lose to the Miami Hurricanes. Lou Holtz took Faust's place and brought Notre Dame back around to National Championship and the Miami-Notre Dame rivalry was the hottest of the season.

2011 Tight End Nick Vannett Commits to Ohio State

Nick Vannett felt the people and the recruiting class of 2011 sold him on Ohio State. A local recruit for the Buckeyes, Vannett comes from nearby Westerville Central where he caught 20 passes as a junior for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rated the 12th best tight end in the country, Vannett joins Jeff Heuerman as a top rated tight end to join OSU in 2011.

Devin Smith – Massillon Tigers Wide Receiver

Devin Smith, a wide receiver from Massillon Ohio, committed to Ohio State recently after receiving scholarship offers from 17 schools across the country. Notre Dame, Penn State, and Michigan State were heavily recruiting the 6’1” wide out when he visited Ohio State for their senior camp and received the Buckeye’s offer. He quickly committed to OSU four days later and became the 2nd receiver of their 2011 recruiting class.
