TyleikWilliams

Unity Reed’s Tyleik Williams recently committed to play college football at Ohio State in 2021. He joins the 2nd best class in the country on a team that should be loaded with talent and competing for a national championship. He had 31 offers total including offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Boston College and Duke. Defensive line coach Larry Johnson recruit Williams for the Buckeyes along with Al Washington. He comes in as a 6’3” 325lbs 4 star prospect, considered the 8th best defensive tackle in the country, and the 3rd best recruit in the state of Virginia for 2021.

Visits Tyleik Williams Took

Official visits to college campuses has been limited during this recruiting cycle because of Covid 19 fears and it even caused the Big 10 to cancel their season before reversing their decision. Ryan Day and the Ohio State coaching staff has been one of the programs that has had great success despite not bringing kids to the school. Larry Johnson was one of the big reasons Williams selected Ohio State, as Johnson is considered one of the best developers of NFL talent in the country.

What Ohio State Gets in Tyleik Williams

Williams is a lean quick athlete that can get upfield in a hurry. His ability to move along the line and push away from offensive lineman has allowed him to rack up tackles in high school. Will do good to add some strength, improve his moves, and play a little bit lower in college.

The 2021 Ohio State Football Class

Williams is the third defensive line recruit for Ohio State in their 2021 class. He joins lineman Jack Sawyer and Mike Hall in an group that should dominate in years to come. Ohio State has been battling Alabama for the top spot in 2021 class rankings with the Crimson Tide taking a couple of the Buckeye recruits this round. Getting Williams was great for a program that lost defensive tackle Tunmise Adeleye and needed another top caliber player at the position. They could still use a rush end like JT Tuimoloau from Washington.
