Corey Brown Early Rivals Top 100 2010 Running Back

Corey Brown has the attention of most of the big college football programs in the country. With early offers from teams like Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Boston College, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and West Virginia, Brown can select the best college to meet his goals and showcase his athletic talent at the running back position. An early Rivals 100 2010 recruit, Brown has the size and speed that many teams covet.

Decent Junior Numbers

Six foot one inches tall and 185 lbs, Brown runs a sub 4.5 40 yard dash and has put up good numbers as a varsity player for Springfield Pennsylvania Cardinal O'Hara High School. For his junior year in 2008, Brown rushed for 662 yards over 5 games and caught 13 passes for 154 yards. He scored 11 touchdowns in limited action while averaging 9.74 yards per carry and 11.85 yards per catch.

Four Aggressive Programs

Four of the most active recruiting colleges among the 20 offers that Brown posses include Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Rutgers. Rutgers was able to get a visit from Brown for their Junior Day earlier this year but Brown isn't ready to name any favorites and wants to take additional visits before making any decision.

Scarlet Knight Tom Savage Provides Advice

Brown has the advantage of getting recruiting advice from a prior Lion teammate that was highly recruited, Tom Savage. The 2009 Quarterback prospect from Cardinal O'Hara was ranked the eighth best pro-style quarterback in the country. He received offers from Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Penn State and Pittsburgh before declaring his commitment to Rutgers. Savage has advised Brown to take his time and to not allow recruiting coaches to pressure his decision. Sound like decent advice.

Top Five Coming Soon

Brown hopes to narrow down his list of schools in the next couple of months to a top 5. Look for his final five to be decided prior to the beginning of fall camp in Springfield. Florida was also recently mentioned as a possible addition to the four programs that were most aggressively seeking his verbal commitment.
