But an offer from Notre Dame within the same week made him reconsider his favorite and now he is weighing the benefits of each program.

Film: Cincinnati QB Andrew Hendrix Highlights

By Steve Patterson

Film Caught Fire

Andrew Hendrix is a big quarterback prospect with a big arm that started getting offers late in 2008 but has seen the number and quality of offers improve steadily over 2009. He didn’t have the best junior year as he split time and was injured during one game, but his skill level has shown well in his highlight film. At 6’3”, 220 lbs, and 4.7 speed he has the tools to play in a traditional offense like Notre Dame and Ohio State tend of run. He now has over 16 offers with scholarships awaiting him at Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Ohio State to name a few.

Medical School a Goal

Hendrix is a 3.5 GPA student at Cincinnati Moeller and is looking at academics as much as football program quality in his future college selection. He has the goal of going to medical school so the school that can offer him the best opportunity in football and preparation for medical school could get his commitment.

Notre Dame Visit Planned

Hendrix is familiar with Ohio State and Columbus as his older sister attended OSU and he visited a number of times for Buckeye games. He has yet to visit Notre Dame but Moeller students have a tradition of going to Notre Dame when the opportunity is available. He also plays baseball for Moeller and will make more visits once his season is completed. His current top five include Ohio State, Cincinnati, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
